Home care and supported living rates

Bury pays its framework home care providers on actual contact time: if a one-hour call is completed in 80% of the time, the provider receives 80% of the hourly rate. Travel between visits still counts as working time for the minimum wage, so the hourly rate has to cover it. Our guide to travel time in home care works through an example.

Hourly rate2025/262026/27
Care at home, framework, standard£23.45£24.30
Care at home, framework, enhanced£27.69£28.53
Supported living, waking hours, standard£22.14£22.97
Supported living, sleep-in, standard£13.75£14.27

The supported living rates apply where Bury pays an hourly rate, not to block or tendered contracts. The Real Living Wage rates for 2026/27 are £23.73 for waking hours and £15.01 for sleep-ins.
